The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner, Brightening and Smoothing Daily Toner for More Even-Looking Skin Tone

I honestly thought I was starting perimenopause after noticing a sudden change in my body odor, especially from my armpits. It was a strong, musty smell that showed up just a few hours after showering - before I even started sweating. I couldn’t figure out what was going on, but I knew something felt off. I started avoiding outdoor activities and social gatherings because I didn’t want to be around people. I even felt embarrassed about going to an ultrasound I had scheduled. Sure, I could’ve made a doctor’s appointment to talk about it, but I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. I figured there were more important health things to focus on first. So, I decided to do some research and try a few things myself. First, I used a mud mask to “detox” my armpits, but that didn’t really help. Then I tried this glycolic acid toner from The Ordinary, which I’d heard could help with product buildup. Maybe that was the issue, I thought. After showering and drying my skin, I applied a few drops of the toner to a thin cotton pad and wiped my armpits. To my surprise, I could see dead skin coming off on the pad even without scrubbing. The exfoliation made a huge difference... the odor disappeared completely! I’m not sure how long I should keep using it, but so far I’ve applied it three times, about three days apart, and haven’t noticed any irritation. So that’s a win. I’ve also used it on my face and neck/chin area, and it helped get rid of tanning serum buildup under my chin, which really surprised me since I double cleanse daily. Lately, I’ve been getting acne on my neck, so I’m hopeful that clearing out that bronzing serum residue will help keep the area clean and free from bacteria. Overall, I’m really glad I found this product - it’s probably one of the best I’ve tried in a while.

I got this toner to help even out skin tone for blemishes on my face if I breakout and for my underarm hyperpigmentation. I’m an AA female and I usually get post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I’ve been using this, along with TimeLess Vitamin C on my underarms consistently for about 2 months now and let me tell you… it works!! I only use this product 2-3 times per week and the days that I don’t use it, I use Timeless Vitamin C. This has really helped Lighten my underarms.. Noticeably!! If you are looking for that, then this is the product for you. It just takes Time— especially if you have pigmentation that’s been there for years. If you put too much on, then your skin could get irritated, so just do a quick 1-2 passes through and you’re done. I recommend!

Best stuff ever. This is my third bottle. I have noticed a significant change in my skin and I will be 58 this year. I believe a combination of this, and my HRT has practically eliminated all of my melasma. I've also had a few breakouts and after cleansing my skin using this, make sure that all the extra dirt And garbage that's left on my skin at the end of the day is gone. Is someone that usually flip-flops on many products especially in the skincare world this is when I continue to go back to. I also love how affordable it is compared to the other products out there.

I heard that glycolic acid helps keratosis pilaris, and so I took a chance and got some. I started with the small bottle, using on my arms and face 5 nights a week. Twice weekly I use adapelene gel. This DOES have a purge timeline but if you stick with it, it's a great, gentle acid exfoliator. I can't use salicylic acid on my acne, so this is a better choice for me. My facial skin has a glow again in my new mom era. This helps so so much in making the skin on my arms smoother and soft. This product is such a great price as well.

Not to belabor the point but I have been using this consistently for a month and I have facial hair I didnt even know was there. I kept having recurring pimples, well, come to find out those were ingrown hairs that I didnt know about I had major problems with flaking, even doing it every few days. I fixed this and alternate this with salicylic acid. So its One night with this toner, next night nothing harsh, next night salicylic acid.
